Work faster with shortcuts

New Feature

Quick menu and keyboard
shortcuts (1/2)
Getting ideas out of your head and into a
presentation should be fast and effortless. With
keyboard shortcuts, you can navigate your
workspaces, create presentations, add slides,
and insert content without leaving your
keyboard.
Type ⌘ + K (or CTRL + K) to pull up the quick
menu, which lets you discover available
keyboard shortcuts and actions.

Most options in the quick menu offer a singleletter shortcut — like I for image or T for text.
Other options have a submenu; for instance:
type S to pull up a menu of available shapes.
The quick menu will show different options
based on what you're doing in Pitch. While
editing a presentation, you can add content.
While in the dashboard, you can manage your
workspaces and invite users.
We have big plans for shortcuts, but need your
feedback. Let us know which ones you'd like to
see next!

New Feature

Email-password sign in
You can now create a password for your Pitch
account instead of signing in with Google. This
also means that we'll be able to open up our
limited preview to companies who don't use G
Suite.
If you want to set a password for your current
Pitch account, go ahead! Just click Sign in with
email & password on the login screen. As long as
you're using the same email, we'll be able to tie
your identities together.

New Feature

Manage visibility of
presentations (1/2)
We're giving you greater control over who can
see and edit the presentations in your team
workspace. With the new private space, you can:
• Keep some presentations to yourself
• Collaborate with a small group
• Work through your ideas in private before
sharing with the rest of your workspace
Presentations created in your private space are
only visible to you. If you want to work with a
few other people, just use the normal invite
options. When you're ready to share with the
full team, just drag the presentation to your
Home dashboard or a workspace folder.

There are two ways to organize your private
presentations.
In your private space
In your team workspace, you'll see a folder with
your full name. This is your default private space.
In a private folder
We've added a new section above the
workspace folders. Now you can create and
organize your private or semi-private
presentations in a folder, just like you do with
other presentations.

Improvement

Additional font weight support
We've been thrilled by the number of Pitch
teams working with custom fonts to create
beautiful, on-brand presentations.
During the process of uploading some fonts, we
noticed there were several font weights we
didn't yet support.
That limit has now been removed so you can
work with any font (in a .otf, .ttf, or .woff format)
in Pitch. Interested in adding your font? Just
email the les to [support@pitch.com](mailto:support@pitch.com).

Improvement

Added workspace tooltips
Navigating between workspaces is faster and
easier.
Hover over a workspace icon, and you'll see a
descriptive tooltip with the workspace name as
well as a number. You can use the numbers keys
to switch between workspaces.

Removed slide statuses from
public presentations
Slide statuses are a great way to signal to your
team whether content is being worked on or
ready to present. However, that information
might not be as relevant to external audiences.
From now on, if you turn on public access for a
presentation, people outside your workspace
won't see any slide statuses.

More slide assignees to choose
from
Work with outside collaborators more
effectively. Now, anyone working on a
presentation — that includes both workspace
members as well as collaborators with edit
access — will show up in the list of available slide
assignees.

Better image performance
We've taken several steps to improve the
experience of working with large images in Pitch.
• When uploading an image in the web app, we'll show a
small spinner to indicate that the upload is in
progress.
• We'll automatically resize images across different
parts of the app, making the whole experience a lot
speedier.
• We've introduced advanced image-optimization
techniques to reduce le sizes.

Bug Fixes

🔡 Text blocks will extend in the correct direction.

When editing a text block, the text will extend as expected: left-aligned
blocks will move to the right, right-aligned blocks will move to the left,
and center-aligned blocks will extend in both directions.

📋 Copied text blocks will never be pasted as code.

Copying a text block in Pitch and pasting the content into another text block
will paste just the text, and not the underlying code.

🔄 Inspector options won't reset when duplicating blocks.

Did you know you can duplicate blocks like text, images, and shapes by
holding OPTION or ALT and dragging the block with your mouse? It's very
handy. However, using this duplication method would temporarily reset the
inspector options under the Design tab. With this x, the inspector options
will always re ect the selected block's settings.

Bug Fixes

🖨 PDF export will work for presentations with GIFs.

Several users reported that presentations with animated GIFs couldn't be
exported as PDFs. From now on, we'll convert GIFs to still images during
the export process.

🔗Hyperlinked text in comments is easier to see.

Instead of pasting a URL into a comment, you can use the inline editor to
hyperlink a selection of text. Now, when editing a comment, any
hyperlinked text will be underlined and will keep its original line breaks.

↪Rotated text blocks won't collapse into multiple lines when editing.
Rotated text blocks will now behave like normal text blocks when being
edited. Just click to edit and type away.

Bug Fixes

🖼 Uploaded images won't appear broken.

During the process of uploading, image blocks would appear to be
broken. That is to say, the dreaded broken image icon would show up
instead of any loading indicator or the image. This has been xed, and you
should now see a preview of the image instead.

📊 Chart and table control buttons won't be blocked by blocks.

If you were working on a busy slide, where charts and tables were close
to other block types, you might have had a hard time adding a new row or
selecting Edit chart data. Now, if you select a table or chart, the control
buttons will always appear on top of all other blocks, so you can easily
edit content.
