New Feature

Add text to shapes
We're always looking for ways to reduce the
amount of ddling it takes to make the perfect
presentation.

Now you can add text to any shapes in the
Essential, Productivity, and Decorative
categories. Just double-click on a shape and
start typing.

Improvement

Removed redundant helper text
Being clear and concise is essential. And stating
your point without using too many confusing
words is key.
The helper text in the share dialog for private
presentations told you some things you already
knew, so we got rid of it.

Improvement

De ned image upload rules
We've added clear rules around the types of
images that can be uploaded to Pitch, ensuring
that images will load reliably across nearly all
browsers.
You can upload any JPEG, GIF, SVG, or PNG
under 50MB via the web or desktop app without
issue. If you try to upload a different format,
we'll kindly remind you that it's unsupported.

Improvement

Navigate template picker with
arrow keys
Keyboard lovers, we know you're all about
speed.
Before, when creating a new presentation, you
could only use your left and right arrow keys to
traverse the template picker. Now we've
unlocked the power of your up and down
arrows, so you can shave off a few milliseconds
typing your way to the right template.

Bug Fixes

🚨 Alerts won't appear during presentation mode.

When you start working of ine in Pitch, we display an alert letting you know
when changes last synced. This is helpful while editing content, less helpful
when presenting. This alert is now disabled while in presentation mode, so
your content remains the star of the show.

💅 Changes to a presentation style's general settings will apply right away.

Before, changing any of the general settings in the style builder — like
background color or font family — didn't work as expected. Changes wouldn't
be visible in the right-hand preview until one clicked through the reset
buttons. From now on, changes will appear right away.

🔗 Lists and links won't be affected when resetting text blocks.

We no longer treat lists and hyperlinks as inline formatting. So if you
click Reset to default in the right-hand panel, the fonts, colors, and sizes will
reset to match the active presentation style, but any lists and hyperlinks will
stay put.

Bug Fixes

📩 Templates can no longer be shared.

With this change, you can't make content in your Templates folder public or
invite external collaborators to edit templates. This is for the best, as
templates work a bit differently — any changes made rst need to be
published. Sharing for individual presentations in your workspace remains
unchanged.

👽 Additional spaces in text blocks will be preserved while editing.

Before, if you clicked to edit a text block with multiple spaces in a row, the
spaces would be lost. Clicking out of the text block would show the original
formatting. We're not here to tell you how many spaces to put between
sentences (though, for the record, it's de nitely just one space). If you insist on
multiple spaces, we'll keep them where they are.

🔤 Selecting an area of the slide won't generate a text block.

Sometimes, selecting an area of the slide with your mouse and then releasing
would result in an accidental text block. And now it won't.

Bug Fixes

✈ Resized text won't

ow into the "no- y zone."

We now constrain the width of text blocks positioned near the no- y zone;
i.e., the gridlines near the edges of the slide canvas. Before, if you placed text
along the gridlines and increased the font size, the text would ow off the
canvas. Now it will wrap and move down, but never off, the right side of the
slide.
Tables can be resized using the right-hand panel.

Before, you could drag a table to adjust the width and height, but entering the
dimensions directly in the right-hand panel did nothing. Now you can change
the dimensions by directly inputting the desired width and height.

🎨 Custom templates should be back in your Templates folder.

A small selection of custom templates (i.e., ones created and saved by users,
not pre-loaded by Pitch) were available via the template picker when creating
a new presentation, but missing from the Templates folder. We've xed this
bug, and those templates should now be available in both spots.
