Curious Sofa
Even if you're not a vintagey person, this store is both soothing and invigorating. Owner Debbie Dusenberry knows how to make it all work, from the textiles to the soaps to the slightly shabby chic atmosphere. There are lots of good textures and surfaces to interact with: luxury linens, good-smelling potions and funky mirrors. The inventory changes regularly, but some recent items include chairs that have the paint chipping just so (the way you could not get it to look if you tried it yourself) and comfy sofas that have a quirky and individualized appeal. The bonus of Curious Sofa (aside from the feat of making a former Gap store look like a vintage shop) is that it's like finding things at a good flea market. You know, like someone weeded out all the grubby stuff and made it look better so you wouldn't have to.
