All eyes turn toward the door of the Gossip Inn when it opens, which can be intimidating the first time you arrive. But to quote a bumper sticker sighted in the Dot, "KCK: It's not for sissies." The Gossip Inn is a hole in the wall where you'll find the requisite country hits and hard rock on the jukebox, a pool table, and regulars puffing contentedly on cancer sticks. But as smokers know, there's no better way to make a new friend than to ask for a light. It's even easy to drag along those friends who refuse to go to bars that are too smoky — just introduce them to the Gossip Inn's giant backyard patio, atmospherically illuminated by neon palm trees and lit-up flamingos. There's no smoking ban in sight in KCK, which might make for another good bumper sticker: "KCK: No restrictions."
