Party for Young Jews

By Flannery Cashill

Published on July 10, 2008

If you observe the Jewish sabbath, you've probably missed some gigs, a few barhops and every First Friday ever. Not to worry: Tonight, the Young Professionals Initiative of the Jewish Federation sponsors a Summer Fling at the Arts Incubator, giving young area Jews a chance to meet, mingle and enjoy the social heat of summertime in the cool of downtown KC. Attendees are encouraged to dress from the decade of their birth. Remember: Jumpsuits flatter no one, but Zubaz pants are timeless. There will be door prizes and prizes for best costume, including subscriptions to Jewish online dating site jdate.com. It's like a high school mixer, if high school mixers served booze and all the girls were fair game. The event begins at 9:30 p.m. and runs until 1:30 a.m. See jewishkansascity.org to register in advance and save $10 off the $25 cover, or call 913-327-8144.
