Let Your Disc Fly

Published on May 08, 2008

For a week in 2009, nearly 1,000 disc golfers will descend on Kansas City for the Professional Disc Golf Association's World Championships. Before the discs fly next year, though, the Kansas City Flying Disc Club needs to raise money to host the championships. It starts today with the fourth-annual Kansas City Disc Golf Day at Rosedale Park (4000 Mission Road in Kansas City, Kansas). For $15, players can join the club and get a commemorative "Peace, love, disc golf" T-shirt and disc. Rounds start at 9 a.m. and will clang the chains until 4 p.m. At noon, golfers will break for a cookout. Nonmembers can join the picnic for $7. See kcfdc.org for more information.— Justin Kendall
